It was 2019 and Orange Cyberdefense was building a new Operational Intelligence team to help some of their biggest existing customers unlock untapped data for their IT/Businesses. We wanted to use the same machine data that, at that time, was only looked at for security. Being a data nerd, an opportunity to enable that data to work for us excited me to join the force. I was lucky to be an early bird in the OI Team.

Now, my primary focus is to consult our customers through advisory, development and leadership work. They are typically on a digitalization journey: going from being reactive to being proactive or even preventive. We do this by applying various methods of big data analytics, machine learning, automation, and visualization to improve both their IT and Business Operations capabilities.

From my point of view, collaboration is the key to success. I love my job because of the collaborative environment where everyone has the same goal and are dedicated to reaching it. This truly creates a positive environment where everyone helps and learns from each other. I’m not aware of any other product that gives me the tool to quickly formulate questions to get the right answers from any kind of machine data. Splunk makes data fun!

Building simple solutions with intuitiveness and user-friendliness is one of the biggest challenges I have seen so far, which motivates me.

An important factor for me, which Orange Cyberdefense supports, is a good work-life balance. I have the control and freedom of managing my time, which of course comes with great responsibility. We support and keep each other accountable which allows me to be flexible and produce high quality of work, and I work hard to keep the trust. It’s a real win/win.

“Learning by Sharing” is my favorite part of the job. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experiences, which typically results in even more learning opportunities and a shared understanding together with others. I have the opportunity to develop both internally within the company and externally in a customer environment. We grow together!
