Filip Verstockt leads new Orange Cyberdefense Belgium
Brussels/Antwerp, March 24, 2020 – Orange Cyberdefense Belgium has appointed Filip Verstockt as the new General Manager. Orange Cyberdefense Belgium includes SecureLink Belgium, ZIONSECURITY and Orange Cyberdefense Evere.
IT and telecom specialist Orange took over the activities of SecureLink and ZIONSECURITY in July 2019. Today, just over six months after this acquisition, the group is taking another step, integrating SecureLink Belgium, ZIONSECURITY and Orange Cyberdefense Evere into Orange Cyberdefense Belgium. At the same time, Orange Cyberdefense is appointing a new General Manager, Filip Verstockt.
Filip Verstockt began his career with ICT integrator Telindus. In 2000 he switched to Orange Business Services, where he held various positions. In 2007 he became Sales Manager Orange Business Services BeLux and thereafter climbed to Head of Sales BeLux. He focused on value-added services. In 2014, Filip was named Global Head of Sales & Solution Architects at Orange Mobile Enterprise. After a brief sideways move to Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, where he became SVP Europe North Region in 2019, he has now returned to the familiar Orange environment.
Filip Verstockt: ‘The new Orange Cyberdefense Belgium entity, with its 300 local experts and talents, occupies a unique position in Belgium! Plus there is the input of extra knowledge from the parent company, Orange Cyberdefense, the European leader with 2,100 employees. Orange Cyberdefense Belgium has the ability to support customers locally, wherever they are, even if they have subsidiaries abroad. Our scale in the industry is unique. Our portfolio is now broader and deeper than ever. In addition, the team has a unique local culture and vast amounts of expertise. I am determined to make this a success.’
According to Hugues Foulon, CEO Orange Cyberdefense, Filip Verstockt is the right man to take Orange Cyberdefense Belgium further: ‘He combines the best of both worlds. Thanks to his background at Orange Business Services, he is familiar with the group’s corporate culture. But given his experience with local ICT integrator Telindus, among others, he attaches great importance to the company’s own identity and local anchorage in Belgium as well. His vast experience, his enthusiasm and his open-minded attitude make him a perfect match.’
Jo Vander Schueren, former General Manager of SecureLink Belgium, is to leave the company and looks back with satisfaction: ‘The past 16 years were a fantastic experience. This is a unique company, with talent and expertise but which also places great emphasis on values and team spirit. But now that SecureLink has reached a safe haven in Orange Cyberdefense, I see my mission as accomplished. And it is time to broaden my outlook and chase new dreams.’
