Orange Cyberdefense Switzerland, a leading provider of cybersecurity services in Switzerland and Europe, announces that the 16th edition of Insomni'hack, a major event that brings together cybersecurity enthusiasts and professionals from all over the world, will take place from March 10 to 15 at the SwissTech Convention Center at EPFL in Lausanne.
Insomni'hack has become one of Europe's most emblematic cybersecurity events, with the last edition attracting more than 1,500 participants. It is also the host of one of the largest hacking competitions (CTF) in the world.
AI redefines cybersecurity
According to the latest Orange Cyberdefense report, mid-market companies have experienced a 53% year-on-year increase in cyber extortion incidents. A lack of proactive vulnerability management and a lack of employee awareness continue to be key factors in this trend.
But where AI is currently having the biggest impact is in social engineering attacks that target the human factor, tipping the balance in the attackers' favor. And as organizations of all sizes increasingly adopt platforms and tools that use generative AI, they are likely to become even more exposed to security risks.
On the positive side, the integration of AI into cyberdefense tools and processes - which is already well underway - means we can look forward to significant developments in the coming years.
Insomni'hack 2025 will feature almost 30 conferences on a wide range of cybersecurity topics, from AI and self-driving vehicles to the security of mobile devices and cloud platforms. As usual, the focus is not only on technical issues, but also on the regulatory and organizational aspects of cybersecurity.
Last but not least, the now annual ethical hacking competition (CTF) will once again be one of the highlights of the event with around 750 participants on the night of March 14-15.
"The 2025 edition of Insomni'Hack is set to be an important meeting to understand how defensive and offensive methods are evolving in cybersecurity. It's also a crossroads where professionals and enthusiasts can meet, exchange ideas and collaborate. Anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the world of hacking can't afford to miss this event," says Nicolas Lutz, Managing Director of Orange Cyberdefense Switzerland.
