Stijn Schepers is Chief Digital Officer at the City of Genk. In this role, Schepers is responsible for spearheading the city's digital transformation efforts, focusing on enhancing the citizen experience and developing a smart city ecosystem. With over 20 years of experience as an IT consultant, Schepers brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his current position. He has worked in various roles in different countries, including Belgium, The Netherlands, the UK, New Zealand, and Australia. This international exposure has provided him with a global perspective on digital innovation and technology adoption. Prior to his role in the City of Genk, Schepers spent six years working for Accenture, a leading global professional services company. During his tenure there, he worked on numerous projects, focusing on the performance, stability, optimization, and reliability of IT systems.
