Diana Selck-Paulsson
Lead Security Researcher
Diana is a Lead Security Researcher for Orange Cyberdefense, based in Malmö, Sweden. She leads the company’s efforts to track, analyze, and report on the current cyber extortion (Cy-X) and ransomware threat landscape, as well as hacktivism activities since 2022, when the lines between different forms of cyber aggression began to blur. Diana holds a Master's degree in International Criminology. Her primary interests and focus include data analysis, researching cybercrime trends, victimology, and the human element in cybersecurity.
Nils Holten
Team Lead Pentest
Nils is the Team Lead for Pentesting at Orange Cyberdefense, bringing extensive experience and expertise to his role. Previously, he served as a Technical Lead and Security Analyst at the CyberSecurity Operation Center (CSOC) in Norway, where he managed security incidents on a daily basis. Nils has a strong military background, having worked with the Royal Norwegian Air Force and the Norwegian Cyber Defence Force. His work involved both offensive and defensive operations in the realm of cybersecurity. Nils also frequently shares his insights at various IT conferences, contributing to the broader cybersecurity community with his deep knowledge and practical experience, building a safer digital society.

Decoding Today’s Cyber Thread: A Critical Analysis of Ongoing Operations
Since the war against Ukraine began in 2022, the cyber threat landscape has seen significant shifts. Reported surges in hacktivism may mask a deeper reality, where nation-state influence blurs the lines between hacktivism, ransomware, and state-sponsored activities. This presentation will analyze both quantitative data from ransomware victims and qualitative insights into so-called hacktivist activities, challenging prevailing narratives and revealing the true nature of these operations.
Thinking outside the box: The importance of tracking your digital risk
Sharing multiple stories from the field about brand exploitation, as well as effective strategies in digital risk protection and advice on how to play your part in creating a safer digital society.
Making sense of operational technology attacks: The past, present and future
Reading reports about cyberattacks affecting operational technology, we can get the impression most attacks are both targeted and sophisticated. Is this really the case?
Answering that would require creating an OT cyberattack typology and use it to analyse all historical attacks. That’s what we’ve done in our latest research, and this talk will present some findings. We conclude with an example of how we think OT cyberattacks may evolve in the future.
